Series description: Over the sea to Europe! Journey of a Syrian refugee called Anas from Alexandria to Europe. “Myself and journalist Wolfgand Bauer travelled with Anas incognito, pretending to be refugees from Azerbaijan. After a week of waiting in a secret location, we got on a boat carrying Syrian refugees. A few hours later we were stopped by Egyptian navy and we spent nine days in an Egyptian jail. In 2014, around 100,000 Syrian refugees landed on European shores illegally and still many more fled to various countries all over the Near East, where they live in terrible conditions. All pictures were taken with iPhone.”
