“The Olympics in Tokyo took place as expected in terms of organisation at a somewhat slow pace. The work of the photographer was made more interesting in that we had to register for each sport separately at least 24 hours in advance. There were also continuous PCR tests and having to fill in online health forms. At the Olympics that meant for 14 hours of photography and travelling between sports centres we had to be constantly thinking about the bureaucracy regarding the pandemic,” says the author.
