Czech Nature Photo presents and assesses Czech photographers’ best pictures of living nature. Its international expert panel met at the Czech Photo Centre gallery on March 3rd under the baton of nature photographer Vladimír Čech Jr. Israeli wildlife photographer Boaz Amidror, photographer Václav Šilha, Šumava National Park director Pavel Hubený, and Petr Tureček from photography manufacturer Cewe joined him in judging the nominations.
267 photographers entered the fifth year of this competition, intended for both professionals and advanced amateur photographers. They sent in 2,300 photographs. New to this year was Czech Photo Junior, for which 227 students of elementary and high schools signed up, sending in nearly 1,000 photos.
